Motivation

Motivation

What is motivational theory?

Motivational theories are ways of motivating employees in the company in order for the employees to feel much better and it can help them to work faster for the company.

Types of motivational theories

Maslow's theory of hierarchy- Maslow's theory is about what is needed the most and catogarized into what is needed and what is not needed.

Mcgregor's theory X and Y

Theory X- A smooth calm way of motivating their employees but is needed to be controlled as most people can be lazy and might not work.

Theory Y- Very active employees and will always work very hard. They do not need such a smooth way of motivating them as they should be able to work hard enough to finish the job.

How does Steve jobs motivate his company?

Steve Jobs uses most of the theories in Apple. He used Mcgregor: He chose theory X as he believes that every employee is need to be given a clear instruction and under supervision. He also use Maslow theory on hierarchy. He makes sure that all the employees are safe and the areas are clean and hygienic. He not only use both of the theories but also taylor's theory and it is about division and what the employees are specialise on. They are all separated into different groups based on what they are to do. Steve jobs separated the software and hardware designers.
